STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Two
AN ACT appropriating funds to the broadband matching grant fund.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Appropriation; Department of Business and Economic Affairs. There is hereby appropriated to the department of business and economic affairs the sum of $35,000,000, for the biennium ending June 30, 2023, for deposit into the broadband matching grant fund established in RSA 12-O:63. The source of the funds shall be the American Rescue Plan Act, Public Law 117-2. The governor is authorized to draw a warrant for said sum out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.

METHODOLOGY:
This bill appropriates $35,000,000 in the biennium ending June 30, 2023, to the broadband matching grant fund established in RSA 12-O:63, administered by the Department of Business and Economic Affairs. The source of this appropriation would be funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The broadband matching grant fund is a continually appropriated dedicated fund and it is unclear at this time how much of the $35,000,000 would be expended for program purposes each year, although it is assumed some would be made available as matching grants to political subdivisions (county and local governments).
