SENATE BILL 371-FN

 

AN ACT relative to the licensing of resident physicians.

This bill adds to the rulemaking authority of the board of medicine the eligibility requirements and duration of licensure for physician residency programs.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT relative to the licensing of resident physicians.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Office of Professional Licensure and Certification; License Renewals; Lapse.  Amend RSA 310:8, II to read as follows:

II. Licenses shall be valid for 2 years from the date of issuance except for physician residency licenses in accordance with RSA 329:14 and rules adopted under RSA 329:9, XXII and those apprentices licensed for one year in accordance with rules adopted pursuant to 541-A, provided that timely and complete application for license renewal by eligible applicants shall continue the validity of the licenses being renewed until the office has acted on the renewal application.

2  New Paragraph; Physicians and Surgeons; Examining Board; Rulemaking Authority.  Amend RSA 329:9 by inserting after paragraph XXI the following new paragraph:

XXII. The eligibility requirements and duration of licensure for physician residencies under RSA 329:14.

3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
