AMENDED ANALYSIS

 

This bill requires the board of medicine to adopt rules regarding continuing medical education for those physician assistants that have received their National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certification, but have chosen not to maintain their certification, and further exempts physician assistants from the provisions of the chapter relative to the board of barbering, cosmetology, and esthetics.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT relative to the regulation of physician assistants.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Subparagraph; Physician Assistants; Rulemaking.  Amend RSA 328-D:10, I by inserting after subparagraph (l) the following new subparagraph:

(m) Continuing medical education (“CME”) requirements for those physician assistants that have received their National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (“NCCPA”) certification, but have chosen not to maintain their certification.

2  Barbering, Cosmetology, and Esthetics; Exemptions.  Amend RSA 313-A:25, I to read as follows:

I. Physicians and surgeons licensed under RSA 329 and physician assistants licensed under RSA 328-D when engaged in the practice of their profession.

3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
