STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Five

AN ACT relative to completion of a sidewalk on Hazen Drive in the city of Concord and making an appropriation therefor.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Sidewalk; Hazen Drive in the City of Concord. The commissioner of the department of transportation shall construct a sidewalk on the west side of Hazen Drive extending from the end of the existing sidewalk and connecting to the sidewalk on East Side Drive, both in the city of Concord.

2 Appropriation. The sum of $350,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006 is hereby appropriated to the department of transportation for the construction of a sidewalk on the west side of Hazen Drive in the city of Concord. This appropriation is in addition to any other funds appropriated to the department. The governor is authorized to draw a warrant for said sum out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.

HB 169-FN-A - FISCAL NOTE

AN ACT relative to completion of a sidewalk on Hazen Drive in the city of Concord and making an appropriation therefor.

FISCAL IMPACT:

      The Department of Transportation indicates this bill will increase state general fund expenditures by $350,000 in FY 2006. There will be no fiscal impact on state, county and local revenue or county and local expenditures.

      This bill appropriates $350,000 from the general fund to the Department of Transportation for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006 for the purposes of this act.

METHODOLOGY:

    The Department (DOT) states this bill requires the Department to construct a sidewalk on Hazen Drive from the existing sidewalk in front of the Department of Safety complex to the East Side Drive intersection. DOT estimates that this project will require constructing a new sidewalk 1,360 lineal feet (LF) in length, at a cost of $150 per LF, and resurfacing the existing five foot wide, 2,800 LF sidewalk, at a cost of $6.00 per square foot. New construction at $150 per LF includes drainage and necessary shoulder work. The total cost of the project is shown below:
