HOUSE BILL 213
AN ACT relative to nomination of officers in the house of representatives.
COMMITTEE: Legislative Administration
This bill requires the nomination of a majority leader for the house of representatives by members of the majority party and approval by the speaker of the house. The majority leader may then nominate other majority officers.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Five
AN ACT relative to nomination of officers in the house of representatives.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Legislative Officers; Majority Leader. Amend RSA 14 by inserting after section 2-b the following new section:
14:2-c Majority Leader of the House of Representatives; Majority Officers. A plurality of the members of the majority party shall nominate a member to be the majority leader of the house of representatives, subject to approval and appointment by the speaker of the house. The majority leader may then nominate other majority officers of the house of representatives, subject to approval and appointment by the speaker of the house.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
