AN ACT relative to amended warrant articles on official ballots.

ANALYSIS

This bill requires that both the original warrant article and the amended warrant article appear on a ballot in towns that have adopted official ballot voting.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Five

AN ACT relative to amended warrant articles on official ballots.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Amended Warrant Articles. RSA 40:13, IV(b) is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:

(b) The original text of the warrant article prior to amendment shall appear on the official ballot next to a box in which to make a mark. The text of the warrant article after amendment shall appear immediately below the original text and next to a box in which to make a mark. The voter shall place a mark in the one box that corresponds with his or her choice. The warrant article that receives the greatest number of votes shall prevail.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
