AN ACT removing judicial discretion to include life insurance in a child support order.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Five

AN ACT removing judicial discretion to include life insurance in a child support order.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Support and Custody of Children; Life Insurance. Amend RSA 458:17 by inserting after paragraph XI-a the following new paragraph:

XI-b. No child support order shall require a parent to maintain life insurance on behalf of the child.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2006.
