HB 407-FN-LOCAL - FISCAL NOTE

AN ACT relative to licensing of dogs.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Department of Agriculture has determined this bill may increase local revenue by $304,000 in FY 2006 and each year thereafter. There will be no fiscal impact on state, county and local expenditures or state and county revenues.

METHODOLOGY:

The Department stated there are approximately 152,000 dogs licensed with the town clerks each year in New Hampshire. This bill raises the licensing fees for dogs by $2. The city or town collecting the dog tax will keep the $2 increase.
