AN ACT relative to access to certain criminal records.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Five

AN ACT relative to access to certain criminal records.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Subparagraph; State Police; Access to Criminal Records. Amend RSA 106-B:14, I by inserting after subparagraph (c) the following new subparagraph:

(d) Any attorney of record for the defendant in any criminal case, and any of his or her staff members acting under the direction and supervision of such attorney or any private investigator licensed under RSA 106-F, who has been hired by the counsel for the defense, shall be allowed to obtain any and all criminal records and current addresses of any person who is a defendant, complainant, or potential witness in the case.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2006.
