STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Five
AN ACT establishing the position of state meat inspector.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Position Established. There is established in the department of agriculture, markets, and food, the position of state meat inspector who shall be a classified state employee. The state meat inspector shall enforce the provisions of RSA 427:1 through RSA 427:37. Said position shall be funded entirely through federal, state, and private grants.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.

AN ACT establishing the position of state meat inspector.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Department of Agriculture determined this bill will increase state expenditures by $72,523 in FY 2006, $43,180 in FY 2007, $46,887 in FY 2008 and by $49,269 in FY 2008. State restricted revenue will increase by $36,261 in FY 2006, $21,590 in FY 2007, by $23,443 in FY 2008 and by $24,634 in FY 2009. There will be no fiscal impact on county and local revenue or expenditures.
METHODOLOGY:
The Department stated that in order to establish the position of state meat inspector one person would be hired and trained, a vehicle purchased, and supplies would be needed. The Department calculated the estimated costs as follows:

The
Department further stated that additional costs such as supplies, uniforms,
boots, administrative supplies and administrator costs cannot be estimated.
Additionally, the Department assumed that the state will have a cost sharing
agreement with the federal government on a 50/50 basis. If an agreement could
be made, the state would get 50% of expenses reimbursed.
