AN ACT relative to the retirement system classification for the director of juvenile justice services, department of health and human services.

This bill allows the director of juvenile justice services, department of health and human services, if certified as a police officer, to maintain group II membership in the New Hampshire retirement system.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Five

AN ACT relative to the retirement system classification for the director of juvenile justice services, department of health and human services.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Director of Juvenile Justice Services; Department of Health and Human Services Retirement System. Amend RSA 126-A by inserting after section 10 the following new section:

126-A:10-a Director of Juvenile Justice Services; Retirement System. For purposes of classification under the provisions of RSA 100-A, the director of juvenile justice services shall be considered a permanent policeman if the director was a permanent police member of group II for at least 10 years prior to appointment as director of juvenile justice services and continues to be certified as a police officer.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
