STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Five

AN ACT relative to the approval process for tuition contracts with schools.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 School Districts; Contracts With Schools. RSA 194:22 is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:

194:22 Contracts With Schools. A school district may enter into a contract with an academy, high school, or other literary institution located in this state, or in another state if necessitated by distance or transportation facilities, for a term not to exceed 20 years from the date of the contract, without the approval of the legislative body of the school district. The school district is authorized to raise and appropriate money to carry the contract into effect. If the contract is approved by the state board of education, the academy, high school, or other literary institution with which it is made shall be deemed a high school maintained by the district.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
