STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Six
AN ACT defining deconstruction for purposes of solid waste management.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; Waste Reduction Goal; Deconstruction. Amend RSA 149-M:2 by inserting after paragraph II the following new paragraph:
III. It is the policy of the state to encourage deconstruction and processing when demolishing a building or other structure, so that the deconstructed components or demolition waste from the building or structure can be processed, reused, or recycled.
2 New Paragraph; Solid Waste Management; Definitions; Deconstruction. Amend RSA 149-M:4 by inserting after paragraph IV the following new paragraph:
IV-a. “Deconstruction” means the process of taking apart a building or other structure with the primary goal of preserving whatever components of the building or structure may be reused, recycled, or processed for a future use.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
