AN ACT allowing veterans discharged under honorable conditions to be eligible for the veterans’ property tax credit.

ANALYSIS

This bill allows the standard or optional veterans’ property tax credit to be granted to veterans of qualifying wars or conflicts who were discharged under honorable conditions.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eight

AN ACT allowing veterans discharged under honorable conditions to be eligible for the veterans’ property tax credit.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Standard and Optional Veterans’ Tax Credit. Amend RSA 72:28, IV(a) to read as follows:

(a) Every resident of this state who served not less than 90 days in the armed forces of the United States in any qualifying war or armed conflict listed in this section and was honorably discharged or discharged under honorable conditions or an officer honorably separated from service; or the spouse or surviving spouse of such resident;

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect April 1, 2008.
