STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine
AN ACT authorizing the supreme court to establish a fee to be imposed when a court extends the time for payment of a fine.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; Court Fees. Amend RSA 490:26-a by inserting after paragraph II the following new paragraph:
II-a. The supreme court may establish by rule an equitable fee to be added to a fine whenever a court extends the time for the payment of the fine.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

AN ACT authorizing the supreme court to establish a fee to be imposed when a court extends the time for payment of a fine.
FISCAL IMPACT
The Judicial Branch states this bill will increase state revenue by $329,850 in FY 2010 and each year thereafter. This bill will have no fiscal impact on county and local revenues or state, county and local expenditures.
METHODOLOGY
The Judicial Branch states this bill authorizes the Supreme Court to establish a fee to be imposed when a court extends the time for payment of a fine. The Judicial Branch states 13,194 individuals set up time payments in FY 2008. Assuming a 2010 implementation date, if this number stays constant and the fee is set at $25 to make payments over time, the Branch assumes state revenue will increase by $329,850 in FY 2010 and each year thereafter.
