STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT allowing a town budget committee to establish an alternative date for its public hearing.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Hearing Rescheduled. Amend RSA 32:5 by inserting after paragraph I the following new paragraph:

I-a. At the time a town budget committee sets a date for the public hearing required in paragraph I, such committee shall set an alternate date, to be used in the event of inclement weather. Such alternate date shall be not later than 20 days before the annual or special meeting. The chairman of the budget committee shall decide whether the originally scheduled hearing shall be cancelled.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
