STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine
A RESOLUTION requesting the Macquarie Bank to withdraw its rate hike request related to the Aquarion Water Company in Hampton, North Hampton, and Rye.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
Whereas, the Macquarie Bank of Sydney, Australia is the owner of the Aquarion Water Company of New Hampshire; and
Whereas, in these difficult economic times utility costs have a pressing effect on property values and property taxes; and
Whereas, the bank, as owner of Aquarion Water Company of New Hampshire, has requested a rate increase; and
Whereas, the decision made in a board room in Sydney has a significant effect on the economy in New Hampshire and the economic well-being of the ratepayers in the towns of Hampton, North Hampton, and Rye, New Hampshire; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
That the general court hereby recommends and encourages the Macquarie Bank withdraw its request to the Public Utilities Commission for a rate increase for customers of the Aquarian Water Company of New Hampshire.
