AN ACT establishing an exemption from driver restrictions on persons 16 to 18 traveling to and from school-sponsored events.

This bill establishes an exemption from the restriction on persons 16 to 18 operating a vehicle between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. for travel to and from school-sponsored events.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Ten

AN ACT establishing an exemption from driver restrictions on persons 16 to 18 traveling to and from school-sponsored events.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Youth Operators’ Licenses. Amend RSA 263:14, II(b) to read as follows:

(b) The holder of a youth operator’s license shall not operate a motor vehicle between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. unless traveling to or from a school-sponsored event, nor shall such holder operate a motor vehicle when the number of occupants exceeds the number of safety restraints in the vehicle.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2011.
