STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Ten
AN ACT requiring the sterilization of animals adopted from shelters.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Dog and Cat Sterilization Required. Amend RSA 437 by inserting after section 10 the following new section:
437:10-a Dog and Cat Sterilization Required. No animal shelter facility licensed in accordance with this chapter shall sell, give away, adopt, or otherwise transfer ownership of any dog or cat that has not been permanently sexually sterilized.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2011.
