AN ACT relative to the consumer advocate’s access to confidential information provided to the public utilities commission.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Ten

AN ACT relative to the consumer advocate’s access to confidential information provided to the public utilities commission.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Office of the Consumer Advocate. Amend RSA 363:28 by inserting after paragraph V the following new paragraph:

VI. The consumer advocate may receive and shall have access to all confidential information provided to the public utilities commission and all complaints made to the commission under RSA 365:1.

2 Complaint Against Public Utilities. Amend RSA 365:1 to read as follows:

365:1 Complaint Against Public Utilities.

I. Any person may make complaint to the commission by petition setting forth in writing any thing or act claimed to have been done or to have been omitted by any public utility in violation of any provision of law, or of the terms and conditions of its franchises or charter, or of any order of the commission.

II. The office of the consumer advocate shall have access to all complaints made under this section in accordance with RSA 363:28, VI.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
