AN ACT establishing the New Hampshire medal of honor fund and repealing the New Hampshire service award.

This bill repeals the New Hampshire service awards and transfers funds remaining in the New Hampshire serve award account to the New Hampshire medal of honor fund.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Ten

AN ACT establishing the New Hampshire medal of honor fund and repealing the New Hampshire service award.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Sections; New Hampshire Medal of Honor Fund. Amend RSA 110-B by inserting after section 81 the following new sections:

110-B:81-a Gifts, Grants, and Donations. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the adjutant general may solicit and receive monetary gifts, grants, or donations for the purpose of paying costs of the design, manufacture or production, and distribution of the New Hampshire medal of honor as provided in RSA 110-B:81.

110-B:81-b New Hampshire Medal of Honor Fund. There is established in the office of the state treasurer a fund to be known as the New Hampshire medal of honor fund. All monetary gifts, grants, and donations received by the adjutant general pursuant to RSA 110-B:81-a shall be deposited in such fund. The fund is established to pay the costs of the design, manufacture or production, and distribution of the New Hampshire medal of honor under this subdivision. The money in this fund shall be nonlapsing and shall be continually appropriated to the adjutant general.

2 New Subparagraph; Application of Receipts. Amend RSA 6:12, I(b) by inserting after subparagraph (299) the following new subparagraph:

(300) Moneys deposited in the New Hampshire medal of honor fund, established in RSA 110-B:81-b.

3 Transfer of Funds. Any funds remaining in the New Hampshire service award fund on June 30, 2010 shall be transferred to the New Hampshire medal of honor fund, established in RSA 110-B:81-b.

4 Repeal. RSA 115-A:23 through 115-A:28, relative to the New Hampshire service awards, are repealed.

5 Effective Date. This act shall take effect June 30, 2010.
