AN ACT relative to permits to conduct raffles.

This bill provides that permits for charitable raffles shall expire one year from the date of issuance rather than at the time of the drawing.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven

AN ACT relative to permits to conduct raffles.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Raffles; Expiration of Permit. Amend RSA 287-A:7 to read as follows:

287-A:7 Permit Required. Any charitable organization desiring to conduct [a raffle] raffles under the provisions of this chapter shall first obtain a permit therefor from the selectmen or designee of the town, or the mayor and aldermen or designee of the city where the drawing for prizes is to be held. The permit shall expire [at the time of the drawing] one year from the date of issuance, and shall not be transferable.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.
