In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven
AN ACT relative to the number of children in a licensed foster family home.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Residential Care and Child-Placing Agency Licensing; Maximum Number of Children in a Licensed Foster Family Home. Amend RSA 170-E:25, II(a)(2) to read as follows:
(2) If the limit of 6 children under subparagraph (a)(1) is reached, the foster family is willing and able to take [a sibling] an additional child or a sibling group of no more than 3 children or a group of more than 3 siblings of a child already in their care, and the department has concluded that the foster family is able to provide for the safety, permanency, and well-being of the child or children, the department may, notwithstanding the limitations of subparagraph (a)(1), place the [sibling] child or group of siblings in the foster family home.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days from its passage.
