STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve

AN ACT defining a default budget for a municipality.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Official Ballot; Definition; Default Budget. RSA 40:13, IX(b) is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:

(b) “Default budget” as used in this subdivision means the budget authorized for the previous year increased by any new debt service approved by the voters.

2 Default Budget. RSA 40:13, XI(a)(1) through (3) is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:

(1) The budget authorized for the previous year; and

(2) Increases in the previous year’s budget by any new debt service.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
