This bill allows towns or districts adopting a budget and special warrant articles under the municipal budget law to authorize the governing body to include a notation stating the estimated tax impact for the budget and each warrant article.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve

AN ACT allowing municipalities to authorize the inclusion of a statement of the estimated tax impact of the budget and special warrant articles to be voted at annual meeting.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

6:1 New Paragraph; Municipal Budget Law; Warrant Articles; Estimated Tax Impact. Amend RSA 32:5 by inserting after paragraph V-a the following new paragraph:

V-b. Any town may vote to require that the annual budget and all special warrant articles having a tax impact, as determined by the governing body, shall contain a notation stating the estimated tax impact of the article. The determination of the estimated tax impact shall be subject to approval by the governing body.

6:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
