AN ACT relative to school district voting on school building projects.

ANALYSIS

This bill provides that a school district may vote on and approve a school building project but shall not receive school building aid until such aid becomes available. The bill also requires the commissioner of the department of education to develop a list of all school building projects approved by school districts in the 2010 and 2011 fiscal years and to disburse school building aid grants to school districts in the order of priority established once such grants become available.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve

AN ACT relative to school district voting on school building projects.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 School Building Aid; School District Vote and Approval.

I. Notwithstanding the provisions of 2010, 246, a school district may vote on and approve school building projects, but shall not be eligible to receive school building aid grants pursuant to RSA 198:15-a through RSA 198:15-hh or RSA 198:15-u through RSA 198:15-w until school building grants become available.

II. The commissioner of the department of education shall develop a list of all school building projects approved by school districts in the 2010 and 2011 fiscal years. The commissioner shall organize the list in chronological order by the date of project approval and shall disburse school building aid grants to school districts in the order of priority established once such grants become available.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
