STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve
AN ACT relative to playing mind sports for money.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Subparagraph; Definitions; Mind Sports. Amend RSA 647:2, II by inserting after subparagraph (g) the following new subparagraph:
(h) “Mind sports” means human games whose long-term outcomes are determined primarily by the skill of the players. Mind sports shall include backgammon, bridge, chess, and poker. Bingo, blackjack, craps, pai gow poker, roulette, and games involving gambling machines shall not be mind sports.
2 New Subparagraph; Exceptions; Mind Sports. Amend RSA 647:2, V by inserting after subparagraph (c) the following new subparagraph:
(d) Financial arrangements between players, organizers, and venues of mind sports.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2013.
