AN ACT relative to the introduction of substances into the New Hampshire public water supply.

This bill prohibits the introduction of any substance into the public water supply of New Hampshire unless it is required by the department of environmental services to make the water potable.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve
AN ACT relative to the introduction of substances into the New Hampshire public water supply.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Use of Substances in Drinking Water. Amend RSA 485 by inserting after section 14-a the following new section:
485:14-b Introduction of Substances into Public Water Supply. No substance shall be introduced into the public water supply of the state unless it is required by the department to make the water potable.
2 Repeal. The following are repealed:
I. RSA 31:17-a, relative to referendum.
II. RSA 44:16, relative to public water supplies.
III. RSA 52:23, relative to public water.
IV. RSA 485:14, relative to use of fluoride.
V. RSA 485:14-a, relative to referendum procedure for public water systems serving more than one political subdivision.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
