STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve

AN ACT directing the department of resources and economic development to develop a “Live Free or Die Bucks Program” to increase tourism spending.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Department of Resources and Economic Development; Live Free or Die Bucks Program; Legislative Report Required. The department of resources and economic development, in consultation with the department of revenue administration, shall develop a “Live Free or Die Bucks Program,” the purpose of which shall be to increase tourism spending in the state of New Hampshire. The program shall include state-issued coupons or “bucks” that may be used to purchase goods and services at discount or to receive a reduction on the applicable rooms and meals tax. On or before November 1, 2012, the commissioner of the department of resources and economic development shall submit a report on the development of the “Live Free or Die Bucks Program” to the speaker of the house of representatives, the senate president, the house clerk, and the senate clerk. The report shall include a program description, a projected time-line for implementation, anticipated administration costs, revenue projections, and any recommendations for future legislation. The department of resources and economic development shall make the report available to the public on the department’s website.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
