STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve

A RESOLUTION urging New Hampshire policymakers to declare “brainpower” a state resource.

Whereas, the house of representatives recognizes that the changing dynamics of a global economy have had an impact on the state’s workforce and the opportunities available to New Hampshire citizens; and

Whereas, the house of representatives believes that New Hampshire must be proactive and innovative in order to re-define its role and re-assert its competitive advantage in this new economy; and

Whereas, the house of representatives believes that the proper preparation for New Hampshire citizens for the global marketplace requires a commitment to education and a commitment to connecting an educated workforce with emerging industries and business; and

Whereas, the house of representatives recognizes that the creation and retention of an educated and skilled workforce will in itself attract business development in the state, resulting in increased opportunities for New Hampshire citizens in New Hampshire; now therefore, be it

Resolved that the house of representatives hereby declares “brainpower” a New Hampshire resource and that the house of representatives, the senate, the governor, and other policymakers are hereby urged to develop, protect, and foster brainpower driven initiatives in accordance with this resolution.
