STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Thirteen
AN ACT requiring patriotic exercises in public schools on federal Constitution Day.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 School Boards, Transportation, and Instruction of Pupils; Patriotic Exercises. Amend RSA 189:18 to read as follows:
189:18 Patriotic Exercises. In all public schools of the state one session, or a portion thereof, during the weeks in which Memorial Day, federal Constitution Day, and Veterans Day fall, shall be devoted to exercises of a patriotic nature which may include speakers, instruction, presentations, and other events as appropriate. Federal Constitution Day exercises may include recognition of the New Hampshire constitution as well as exercises related to our rights and responsibilities as citizens.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
