HOUSE BILL 214
AN ACT relative to the eligibility of high school students enrolled in college courses to participate in high school extracurricular activities.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Thirteen
AN ACT relative to the eligibility of high school students enrolled in college courses to participate in high school extracurricular activities.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Subdivision; High School Students Enrolled in College Courses. Amend RSA 189 by inserting after section 64 the following new subdivision:
High School Students Enrolled in College Courses
189:65 High School Students Enrolled in College Courses. The school board of each school district shall establish a policy permitting any high school student who has not yet received his or her diploma and who is taking 50 percent or more of his or her senior year credits at an accredited postsecondary educational institution to retain his or her status as a high school student and to permit such student to participate in high school extracurricular activities, prom, and commencement exercises.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
