HOUSE BILL 388
AN ACT relative to the storage of firearms.

This bill provides civil immunity to the owner of a firearm in the event the firearm is used in the commission of a felony or a misdemeanor.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Thirteen
AN ACT relative to the storage of firearms.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Negligent Storage of Firearms; Civil Immunity. Amend RSA 650-C by inserting after section 1 the following new section:
650-C:2 Civil Immunity. No person who stores or leaves on premises under that person’s control a loaded or unloaded firearm shall be held liable in a subsequent civil case for the criminal acts of another person who illegally obtains possession or control of such firearm and uses such firearm in the commission of a felony or a misdemeanor.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
