HB 624 FISCAL NOTE

AN ACT waiving the residency requirement for in-state tuition rates for veterans attending the university system of New Hampshire.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The University System of New Hampshire states this bill, as amended by the House (Amendment #2013-0559h), may have an indeterminable impact on state restricted revenues in FY 2014 and each year thereafter. There will be no fiscal impact on county and local revenues, or state, county, and local expenditures.

METHODOLOGY:

The University System of New Hampshire states the proposed legislation waives the residency requirement for in-state tuition rates for veterans of the armed forces who establish a residence in the state. The System states revenues would be impacted to the extent the proposed legislation qualifies additional students for in-state tuition that would otherwise have paid out of state tuition rates and to the extent the proposed legislation could attract veterans of the armed forces as students that may otherwise have attended a different educational institution.
