AN ACT prohibiting certain drivers from using hand-held devices for communication.

This bill prohibits the driver of any vehicle carrying passengers for hire or of any school bus carrying any school child from using a hand-held device for communication.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Fourteen
AN ACT prohibiting certain drivers from using hand-held devices for communication.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Rules of the Road; Prohibited Uses of Hand-Held Communications Devices. Amend RSA 265 by inserting after section 105-a the following new section:
265:105-b Prohibited Uses of Hand-Held Communications Devices. No driver of any vehicle carrying passengers for hire or of any school bus carrying any school child shall operate such vehicle on a public way while using any type of hand-held device for communication while such vehicle is in motion. The fine for a violation of this section shall be $100.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2015.
