AN ACT relative to motor vehicle registrations.

ANALYSIS

This bill corrects a difference between the fee established for a certified copy of a registration in RSA 261:141, IX and RSA 263:42, II. This bill also allows the municipal agents to accept information contained in the electronic system of record in lieu of a physical copy of the certificate registration.

This bill was requested by the department of safety.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Fourteen

AN ACT relative to motor vehicle registrations.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

47:1 Fees; Copy of Registration Certificate. Amend RSA 261:141, IX to read as follows:

IX. For every certified copy of and duplicate of a certificate of registration—[$10] $15.

47:2 Municipal Permit; Application. Amend RSA 261:148, IV to read as follows:

IV. In the case of any vehicle, a certificate of registration to the same owner for a current or previous registration period. The clerk may waive the requirement for a physical copy of the certificate of registration if the clerk has access to the electronic system of record and can verify the information for the current or previous registration period.

47:3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
