AN ACT prohibiting placement at the Sununu Youth Services Center under the child protection act.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Fifteen

AN ACT prohibiting placement at the Sununu Youth Services Center under the child protection act.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Child Protection Act; Protective Custody. Amend RSA 169-C:6, VII to read as follows:

VII. No child taken into protective custody pursuant to this section shall be securely detained; nor shall the child be placed at the Sununu Youth Services Center.

2 Child Protection Act; Preliminary Disposition. Amend RSA 169-C:16, II to read as follows:

II. A neglected or abused child shall not be placed in an institution established for the care and rehabilitation of delinquent children, the youth development center, the Sununu Youth Services Center, or any institution where an adult is confined.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
