STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

 

AN ACT\tprohibiting a political subdivision from adopting residency restrictions on sex offenders.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

\t1  New Section; Registration of Criminal Offenders; Residency Restrictions Prohibited.  Amend RSA 651-B by inserting after section 12 the following new section:

\t651-B:13  Residency Restrictions Prohibited.  No political subdivision of the state shall adopt an ordinance or bylaw that restricts in any way the residence of a sexual offender or an offender against children.  Any such ordinance or bylaw adopted by a political subdivision of the state prior to the effective date of this section shall be unenforceable upon the effective date of this section.

\t2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
