This bill requires the agency head to notify the municipality's governing body and legislative delegation of the relocation of a state office within the municipality.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seventeen

 

AN ACT requiring notice to municipalities of the relocation of state offices located within the municipality.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Paragraph; Organization of Executive Branch; Powers and Duties of Commissioners; Notice to Municipality of State Office Location.  Amend RSA 21-G:9 by inserting after paragraph VI the following new paragraph:

VII.  At least 2 weeks prior to any final decision by an agency to move a state office or facility from one location to another, or to initiate or terminate a lease by the agency, the commissioner shall provide written notice of the proposal to the governing body and legislative delegation of the municipality in which the building or facility is located.  

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after  its passage.
