STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seventeen

 

AN ACT relative to educational assignments for pupils who have been suspended.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  School Attendance; Suspension and Expulsion of Pupils.  Amend RSA 193:13, I(a) to read as follows:

(a)  The superintendent or chief administering officer, or a representative designated in writing by the superintendent, is authorized to suspend pupils from school for a period not to exceed 10 school days for gross misconduct or for neglect or refusal to conform to the reasonable rules of the school and shall make educational assignments available to the suspended pupil during the period of suspension.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
