1 New Section; Members of the General Court; Attendance at Legislative Proceedings. Amend RSA 14-A by inserting after section 6 the following new section:

14-A:7 Attendance at Legislative Proceedings. Pursuant to Part II, Article 21 of the New Hampshire Constitution, no proceeding in a civil case or summons to appear in a civil action shall affect, prevent, or take precedence over the constitutional privilege of a member of the general court from going to, returning from, or attending any noticed hearing, meeting, or session of the New Hampshire house of representatives or New Hampshire senate or any committee thereof. During regular or special session of the general court, no member shall be required to serve on a jury as provided in RSA 500-A:9. Nothing in this section shall prevent, hinder, or impede the summons, arrest, prosecution, or detention of a member of the general court on any criminal charge.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
