STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seventeen

 

AN ACT allowing humane societies to place tourist oriented directional signs on the side of the road.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Humane Society Directional Signs.  Amend RSA 228 by inserting after section 38 the following new section:

228:38-a  Humane Society Directional Signs.  The commissioner may erect on any class I or class II highway reflective directional signs designating the route or exit to the nearest animal shelter.  Such signs shall be erected in those locations as the commissioner, after consultation with the local humane society, may determine to be in the best public interest.  The cost for the signs and erection of such signs shall be borne by the local humane society.  

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
