STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seventeen
Whereas, Article 7 of Part II of the New Hampshire constitution states that no member of the general court shall take fees, be of counsel, or act as advocate, in any cause before either branch of the legislature; and upon due proof thereof, such member shall forfeit his seat in the legislature; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the general court should investigate whether a member of the general court who is also a paid employee of an advocacy group is in violation of Part II, Article 7 of the New Hampshire constitution; and
That the speaker of the house of representatives and the president of the senate should form a joint commission for such an investigation.
