AN ACT relative to recommittal of a prisoner by the parole board.

This bill authorizes the parole board to impose a term of recommittal of less than 90 days for a prisoner who enters and successfully completes a residential substance abuse treatment program deemed acceptable by the board.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eighteen
AN ACT relative to recommittal of a prisoner by the parole board.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; Parole of Prisoners. Amend RSA 651-A:19 by inserting after paragraph VII the following new paragraph:
VIII. Notwithstanding paragraph I or subparagraphs VII(a) or (d), the parole board may impose a term of recommittal of less than 90 days for a prisoner who enters and successfully completes a residential substance abuse treatment program deemed acceptable by the board.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
