AN ACT requiring certain schools to establish nondiscrimination and employee background check policies.

ANALYSIS

 

This bill requires all schools or educational services that receive public funds to perform background checks on all employees and volunteers and to follow federal and state nondiscrimination laws.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eighteen

 

AN ACT requiring certain schools to establish nondiscrimination and employee background check policies.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Paragraph; Education Tax Credit; Exceptions.  Amend RSA 77-G:9 by inserting after paragraph III the following new paragraph:

IV.  A receiving nonpublic school or educational service that accepts students benefiting from public funds through scholarships, tax credits, freedom savings accounts, or vouchers shall be required to perform background checks on all employees and volunteers and follow all federal and state nondiscrimination laws.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
