STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eighteen

 

AN ACT prohibiting gender reassignment surgery for minors.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Statement of Intent.  The general court hereby finds that persons under the age of 18 years of age are not sufficiently mature nor have the life experience necessary to make the decision to undergo an irreversible gender assignment surgery.

2  New Section; Gender Reassignment Surgery Prohibited on Minors.  Amend RSA 329 by inserting after section 31-a the following new section:

329:31-b  Gender Reassignment Surgery on Minors Prohibited.  No physician licensed under this chapter shall perform gender reassignment on any person under the age of 18 years.

3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2019.
