STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eighteen

 

AN ACT relative to the definition of "occasion" relating to the laying out of roads.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  District Highways; Laying Out Highways.  Amend RSA 231:8 to read as follows:

231:8  Petition.

I.  Selectmen of a town, upon petition, may lay out any new class IV highway not financed in whole or in part with federal aid highway funds, and class V or VI highway or alter any such existing highway within their town for which there shall be occasion.

II.  In this section, "occasion" may include, but is not limited to, a personal want or need of the abutting landowners.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
