AN ACT relative to the requirements for directors of licensed practical nurse education programs.

ANALYSIS

 

This bill provides that the rules of the board of nursing shall not require that a director of an LPN education program possess a master's degree in nursing.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eighteen

 

AN ACT relative to the requirements for directors of licensed practical nurse education programs.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Nurse Practice Act; Rulemaking; Education Programs; LPNs.  Amend RSA 326-B:9, IV to read as follows:

IV.  The standards to be met by, and the process for approval of, education programs designed to prepare applicants to qualify for licensure or certification in any of the disciplines regulated by the board under RSA 326-B:32, including the time period within which noncompliance must be corrected before such approval is withdrawn; provided that such rules shall not require that a director of a nursing program offering a diploma or associate degree leading to a practical nurse license possess a master's degree in nursing.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
