STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eighteen

AN ACT deleting immunization/vaccination requirements for Hepatitis B.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1  Statement of Intent.  The general court finds that Hepatitis B and other sexually transmitted diseases, while communicable, are not transmitted through casual social contact and therefore do not pose a public health threat in a day care or school setting.

2  Communicable Disease; Immunization.  Amend RSA 141-C:20-a, I to read as follows:

I.  All parents or legal guardians shall have their children who are residing in this state immunized against certain diseases.  These diseases shall include, but not be limited to, diphtheria, mumps, pertussis, poliomyelitis, rubella, rubeola, and tetanus.  The commissioner shall adopt rules under RSA 541-A relative to other diseases which require immunization.  There shall be no requirement for immunization/vaccination for Hepatitis B or other sexually transmitted diseases.

3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
