This bill suspends for the biennium ending June 30, 2019 licensure requirements for certain physicians, nurses and physician assistants employed by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs at the Manchester Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eighteen

 

AN ACT relative to licensure of health care professionals employed at the Manchester Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Licensure of Physicians; Manchester Veterans Affairs Medical Center; Suspension During Biennium.  Notwithstanding the provisions of RSA 329, the requirements for licensure of certain physicians in New Hampshire employed by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs at the Manchester Veterans Affairs Medical Center shall be suspended beginning on the effective date of this act and through the biennium ending June 30, 2019.

2  Licensure of Nurses; Manchester Veterans Affairs Medical Center; Suspension During Biennium.  Notwithstanding the provisions of RSA 326-B, the requirements for licensure of certain nurses in New Hampshire employed by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs at the Manchester Veterans Affairs Medical Center shall be suspended beginning on the effective date of this act and through the biennium ending June 30, 2019.

3  Licensure of Physicians Assistants; Manchester Veterans Affairs Medical Center; Suspension During Biennium.  Notwithstanding the provisions of RSA 328-D, the requirements for licensure of certain physicians assistants in New Hampshire employed by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs at the Manchester Veterans Affairs Medical Center shall be suspended beginning on the effective date of this act and through the biennium ending June 30, 2019.

4  Applicability.  The suspensions provided for in sections 1, 2, and 3 of this act shall only apply to those medical professionals employed by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs at the Manchester Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), located at 718 Smyth Road in Manchester, provided that the medical professional:

I.  Is acting within the scope of his or her employment at the Manchester VAMC; and

II.  Possesses a current license in good standing in his or her respective state or country of licensure; and

III.  Is certified by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and maintains that certification; and

IV.  Is credentialed by any medical facility licensed in New Hampshire.

5  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
